Spring Mixer
Short days. Frigid temperatures. Bone chilling winds.
Winter may have put you through the wringer but with spring right around the corner, it’s your turn to do the wringing.
Try these two tasty smoothies and it’s sure to put the spring back into your step.
Lychee-Watermelon smoothie
1 8oz. can of lychees including the syrup (about 18-20 lychees) – chill the can first
2 cups of seeded and diced watermelon (or buy seedless)
½ cup of lime sorbet
Handful of ice cubes
Add all ingredients in blender. Combine until smooth.
Serves 2.
Peanut Butter-Almond smoothie
1 frozen banana
2 tbsp of peanut butter
8 pitted and chopped dates
½ cup of silken almond tofu (½ cup of plain silken tofu with 1 tsp of almond extract works too!)
¾ cup of vanilla soy milk
½ cup of vanilla frozen yogurt
Add all ingredients in blender. Combine until smooth.
Serves 2.
Bottoms up! But not too fast or the deep freeze will be back. |
