A Good Run
The holidays are coming. And unless your last name is Cleaver or you live in Pleasantville, then it can also be the season for the good, the bad and the ugly.
The good? Spending quality time with the family. The bad? Getting that little guilt trip when leaving THEM to go for a run. The ugly? Twelve hundred people dying everyday due to the conflict in the Congo.
This season make it a little less ugly by running for Congolese Women. Help these women rebuild their lives and communities. Survivors of a deadly war that has claimed over 4 million people, Congolese women have endured the most unimaginable acts of cruelty. Raise money for Run for Congo Women and you send a message of faith and hope for a better future.
It’s simple. Pick a goal. Call up everyone you know to contribute to the cause (the season of giving is quickly approaching). Then get out there and Run for Congo Women. Anywhere. Anytime. And any distance. $27 will sponsor a woman for a month by giving her the resources to rebuild her life including support groups, rights awareness, and skills training. Raise $354, and you sponsor a woman for a year. Raise more? Then multiple women will benefit from your good intentions.
Encourage your family to take up this worthy cause. You get more time with them and they ditch the guilt trips. Making it a season for the better, the not-bad-at-alls, and a little less ugly.
