Enjoy the festive atmosphere with four live acts along the course, and post race sports massage by Jo Boatman.  Portion of the proceeds to benefit USO Operation Enduring Care, an organization dedicated to supporting injured service members and their families.

22nd Running of Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest
The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest is Rockville's biggest summer block party and one of the most popular races in the area.  The event consists of the 8K race (including a wheelchair division) and a 1k fun run followed by music, refreshments, and a overall rockin' good evening.
Time:  Festival starts at 7:00  PM (race times vary by event)

July 22, 2007 -  Grand Prix of Silver Spring
Race laps around a 1 km course with some of the top cyclists in the region.  Kids get in on the action too with the Kids' Helmet Races.  Children aged 3 to 7 race 200 meters down Ellsworth Drive and the 8 to 11 age groups will race one lap around the Pro circuit.

Every Tuesday to September 13 -  Tuesday Night Casual Mountain Bike Rides
Organized by MORE (Mid-Atlantic Off Road Enthusiasts), this ride series is aimed at people seeking a casual pace, beginners, and first time night-riders.  Newcomers to night riding should feel welcome - this is a no-drop ride.  All riding abilities are welcome, but it is recommended riders have a few off-road daylight rides under their belts first.

Ongoing through November -  Bikes for the World Collection
Clear some space in your garage and donate old bikes, bike parts and related accessories.  Bikes for the World collects repairable bicycles and donates them to charities overseas for productive use by those in need of affordable transport.

July 28, 2007 -  New Cowans Gap - Tuscarora Trail Hike
Join the Maryland Outdoor Club, a fun and friendly club comprised of primarily 20 & 30-somethings, for a scenic (but strenuous) circuit hike at Buchanan State Forest Park in southern Pennsylvania.  Carpooling available as well, see website for additional details.

Hosted by REI Outdoor School, learn all about meal preparation in the backcountry.  This hands-on seminar will teach you how to build a safe, efficient camp kitchen, design a menu, and prepare nutritious, tasty meals. August 5, 2007 - Culpeper Sprint Triathlon
One of the most popular races of the Virginia Triathlon Series. Swim in the beautiful Mountain Run Lake and then challenge your self on the rolling bike course along rural roads in Culpeper County. The run course is challenging including up and down the famed Montelago hill.
Distance:  750 m swim, 15 mile bike, and 5 K run
