Jerri Lynn Fields
Mamaroneck, NY
Running History: Started running in '04, 1st marathon in '05 (Chicago), 2nd marathon 6 mos. later in '06 (Nashville)
1st Tri: Completed her 1st Tri in early '06, then sidelined for 4 mos after the NH Tri later that same year.
Philly Women's Tri: A great success! Finished in 1:37:54, compared to a 1:57 sprint triathlon finish the year before.
Next Race: Another sprint triathlon, a return NH for the Reach the Beach Relay in summer 2007. She will do the bike leg on a relay team for the Westchester Triathlon (Olympic distance).
In her spare time: Director of a literary arts organization and teaches nonprofit management courses at a local university.
Very proud of... In 2003 she was a smoker and weighed 25 pounds more than she does now. "Running changed my life. I turn 42 in two months. "
Words of wisdom: Life is a journey, not a destination.
What that means to me: Don't just wait to enjoy the race, enjoy the entire training process. If you're not enjoying the training, you're not doing it right! |
