A Quiz for Zen

So you bought your hot pink yoga mat, chic and comfy togs, and all set to give yoga a whirl. Now for some posing questions: where and which style? Just like swimsuits, one size does not fit all. There are many fabulous takes on yoga that are sure to fit all personalities and bodies.

No right or wrong answers here and you’re always allowed to change your mind depending on your mood, energy level, etc.  Enjoy your exploration of yoga!

Yoga Chick Quiz

  1. I like a set series in my practice so I know what comes next. Try Bikram or Ashtanga.
  2. I like to slowly ease myself into new poses. Try Anusara or Iyengar.
  3. I’m very type A and incredibly detail oriented. Try Iyengar.
  4. I like an active, bustling, noisy place for practice. Try a gym over a studio.
  5. It’s hard for me to commit to a schedule. Practice at home when it’s convenient for you with a great DVD, CD (Kimberly’s Get Your Yoga On) or download a free yoga podcast.
  6. I like to spend my free time in the sauna. Try Bikram or Ashtanga.
  7. I like to receive physical assists during practice. Ask the studio or teacher and let them know if you have injuries.
  8. I like to feel as if I’m dancing through the poses. Try Vinyasa.
  9. I think the breath of fire and repeating mantras are tons of fun. Try Kundalini.
  10. I like an intense and seamless practice. Try Ashtanga or Vinyasa.
