Everywhere Edge

Four for the Road

Dear Doggie Rescue Volunteers,

It’s Clifford here.  I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for taking good care of me and finding me an awesome home.

I love my new mom.  She takes me running which I LOVE!!!!  She’s even okay with doggie interval training, where we sprint full speed towards other dogs and come to sudden stops for trees, posts and hydrants.  However, I don’t think she likes the extended stops to clean out the snow and salt that stings my paws.

Last week she came home with a set of All Weather booties from Muttluks.  Who would have ever guessed that this ex-stray would be running around town in booties?  I’m no Tinkerbell, but I got to admit that these booties are pretty cool.

They’re made of a waterproof breathable fabric and specially treated leather toes and soles that protect my paws from salt and water.  Despite my early protests, they stayed put because of the elastic cuff, the tightening strap and Muttluks’ attention to sizing.  There’s even a reflective strip so I can help keep Mom safe during our night runs.

Extra bonus (but unbeknownst to Mom), my paws stay clean so I don’t muck up the sofa when I sneak up there for my post-workout nap.

Gotta run.  There's an unattended burger on the table with my name on it.

Thanks again for everything.  I wouldn't be here if it weren't for your care and dedication.

Happy wags and sloppy licks,
